Welcome to Seven Lakes Track and Field 2019
We are looking forward to a great track season and are excited about our fall off season program.
1. You will need an athletic physical and it must be turned into the athletic trainer at SLHS (field house)
* Physical forms can also be found on the Katy ISD web site if you are getting with your own doctor but if you have to wait past the 1st day of school you will be behind the other athletes and will not be issued any gear until all forms are clear: http://www.uiltexas.org/files/athletics/forms/PrePhysForm17-18.pdf
2. Speaking of other forms luckily most of our forms can be filled out and submitted online. It is important that you submit after each form. We will not accept copies. They must be submitted.
How do I get these forms?
a. Go to www.katyisd.org
b. Hover over over DISTRICT and under district please select departments
c. Under departments please select athletics
d. Hover over PARENTS and you will see categories that pertain to you. You can join the booster club as a track parent that helps our program tremendously. You can pay for your $50.00 athletic Participation fee through MY PAYMENTS PLUS (make sure it goes to athletics- the system was down when I checked it today) You can also hand deliver Coach Rathke a check for $50.00 and make sure it is payable to: KATY ISD
e. You can also go to all the participation forms needed that are online including the physical form, 4 electronic participation forms (make sure you submit each one!!!!!), and your student/Parent Handbook
3. (Things that go directly to Coach Rathke)
a. I also need a copy of your birth certificate. It can be scanned and emailed to marvinwrathke@katyisd.org I will take it and place it in your file. If you were in our program last year we should have the birth certificate forma already in your file.
b. I need your $50.00 participation fee if you do not pay on MYPAYMENTPLUS (My payment plus is easier for you as I don't have to handle the money and cuts out time consuming steps but we will take it either way. DONT MAKE CHECKS OUT TO SEVEN LAKES BUT CHECKS ARE PAYABLE TO: KATY ISD
4. Other things you will need:
a. a 2" Binder with clear cover for training information
b. loose leaf notebook paper
c. A pencil packet with pens and pencils
d. A watch that gets splits- for training purposes. *You will need this more than previous years this year. I would highly recommend you wear this watch and don't take it off to shower, etc. Many get lost each year when athletes don't want to keep them on. They are water proof!!!
e. A good pair of running shoes for practice only:
possibilities: https://www.menshealth.com/fitness/g19547090/best-running-shoes/?slide=1
f. Once all forms and required items are in place, we will issue practice shorts, practice shirts, a lock, towels, and a laundry clip. We will wash all athletic gear daily. You will need to bring shampoo and body wash to keep in your locker. **Most 7th period athletes don't shower after practice and just turn in workout clothing and shower at home.
Looking forward to a great year Spartans!
